Highlights
Enjoy the natural beauty of Clifton Museum Park through our nature walk activity. With a guided scavenger hunt, students will be encouraged to take in the outdoors during their visit. Heritage Interpreters will provide information on local geology, industries, flora, fauna, and environmental changes.
The Nature Rocks! station is one of five options available as part of the Hands-On History program.

Grade Five Specific Learning Outcomes (Social Studies):
- Learners will investigate how environment influenced the development of an ancient society. (Indicators: investigate how the environment impacts human settlement).
Activities
3 Minutes: Introduction
Students will be given a brief introduction to the park, and any housekeeping items will be addressed. A Heritage Interpreter will indicate the general route of our nature walk to students and pass out an outdoor scavenger hunt.
15 Minutes: Nature Walk
Students will go on a nature walk with the Heritage Interpreter. As students explore, they will discuss the environment and landscape, including geology, local industries, the many past uses of the park, and why humans decided to settle on this property. Students will work on their outdoor scavenger hunt as they go.
3 Minutes: Conclusion
Students will discuss their findings from their scavenger hunt and their favourite tidbits of information from the nature walk with their peers and a Heritage Interpreter.
